Delay

Delay - so is this going to be about Tom Delay or about some kind of a hold-up or postponement? Well if you guessed the latter you're wrong. I will, when the mood strikes me, discuss serious topics like religion/theology, literature, celebrity marriages and divorces...One thing you will never hear me expatiate on is politics. I know, call me a coward or a sack or a pathetic American. I just don't find it interesting. Plus I'm ignorant in said arena and thus I neither can nor will ever be a true intellectual. But what I do find interesting is when they make fun of politicians on Saturday Night Live, which brings me around to my point. Sunday at lunch, I'm telling my dad about the skit from Saturday's SNL lampooning Tom Delay.
Break for necessary info:
When I was in 8th grade I went with my dad to D.C. for some meetings (during which I sat in the hotel and played with my GI Joes). In the course of this I remember meeting and taking a picture with a politician.
Back to Sunday lunch:
Dad: You know when we went to D.C. when you were younger and went to the senator's office?
Me: Yeah
Dad: That was Tom Delay

So in 8th grade, I had my picture made with Tom Delay. I've had my picture made with the former Speaker of the House and I didn't even know it. What I also did not know was that I also had my picture made with a crook. But if you're calling taking contributions criminal, then if you've ever met a politician you've met a crook. Get over it. Mmm, two posts in one day, must've had nothing to do today.
